SNM

Greetings,

This is Mrs. Taylor, proud principal of Warren Central High School.

Last week marked the end of Mid-Quarter 3 on February 6th. Teachers will have grades entered and updated by February 11th. Please take some time to review how your student is doing academically. Remember, credits earned are determined by the average of Quarter 3 and Quarter 4—so it is not too late to boost a grade.

Tutoring continues to take place on Mondays and Thursdays immediately after school, and Academic Advisory is available to all students throughout the week. I cannot stress enough the importance of students taking advantage of the help offered now—not when it is too late.

This week, we plan to re-open a few of our previously closed restrooms. Please take a moment to remind students about respecting all areas of their learning environment. If they see something, say something. I am hopeful that the few students making poor choices will be discouraged by the many students who consistently make the right choices and have the courage to speak up when they see behavior that does not reflect civility, order, respect, or excellence.

I want to send a huge shout-out to the many groups and clubs that were engaged in competition this weekend. Our Warriors—from Performing Arts to Athletics—were busy showing why we are truly the “Pride of the Eastside” across the city. A special congratulations to our Science Olympiad Team for placing 3rd this weekend and advancing to the state competition!

As always, student presence is essential to academic success. Please ensure your student is at school daily, on time, and ready to learn. We anticipate a full week of learning ahead.

Looking ahead, students will be out of school on Monday, February 16th, in observance of Presidents Day. Students in grades 10–12 will participate in an eLearning day. Additionally, due to staff professional development, all students will participate in an eLearning day on Tuesday, February 17th. School will resume as normal on Wednesday, February 18th. More information will be shared closer to these dates.

Thank you, as always, for all you do to support us as we support you and your students.
